What are the rules for a car to get a canary yellow by the police?
When a police officer (in Victoria, Australia) gives a car a "canary yellow (label )"… I understand that the law of Victoria Police is above the law Vic Roads, but What are the rules for whether or not an application for registration when the car gets that sticker canary yellow? I never said the car may be new to road until you have registered and worthied road … however …. Vic Roads very quickly given a "provisional registration" so that the car can be driven in the house to the repair shop and back. Can the owner of the car still run into trouble if the police learn that Vic roads gave a temp. permission driving on the road?
If you have a 'canary' at the POS, then technically, it is not roadworthy, therefore, the record is invalid, and the vehicle is not insured as well. You may request a temporary permit if the vehicle must be brought to a repair shop / work to have done to bring the vehicle to a roadworthy condition. The permit is specific – from point A to point B, taking the most direct route, without intermediaries, in. Once the necessary work is completed, you can use the permit to take the vehicle for an inspection. If approved, be issued with a form indicating that the repairs have been completed. The main road then the process of paperwork and send it to Viv Police.
