Parakeets and birds?

I have two parakeets (one blue and one green) and I learned that they like to have some kind of bird. I have nothing the like in a store or whatever for what could be a good alternative to put in his cage? Would you like a bowl of water in the bottom of the cage or something like that? Also, what are some good homemade toys they would like? I have some toys, but I know who like to have the spinning toys and change everything.

Bathing is very important for birds. A lot of people think of cats when you think of an animal that loves to be clean. But I have say, my birds go nuts with the preening! Placing a small bowl of warm water in the bottom of the cage often inspires a lot of bathroom. If they are going to give water, do so in the afternoon or tomorrow. Never close to bedtime. If you go to bed wet, could get sick. Some birds do not like taking baths (such as my birds). Buying a spray bottle is a good alternative. Just fill with hot water and give them a light spray. Only really needed a good bath week, but if they enjoy it, why not make it a daily ritual? As for homemade toys, most of my birds toys could never have rolls of paper towels! (Do not use toilet paper rolls – Germs) I cut the list a bit, and sometimes a little treat I got a bit of butter peanuts or honey and roll in seeds. I can not get enough of it!
