How can I get my CD's to play on my lap top?

I have a 2 month old Dell lap top. I used the CD for playback CD's before and it worked well. But now it does nothing. I do not think that it is ever to realize that no CD in the drive. I searched the CD and I have gone to the computer, "my" to see if the CD is on the list and not … So how can I get my cd to play?

The CD itself can be defective if it is 2 months of age, then it is under warranty, I call Dell support for this issue
