What dogs get along with pet birds?

I have a pet bird and wondered what dogs are good with birds.

OY … some responses from here … You can not generalize about a breed of dog, but more on individual character / behavior of individual dogs. You could have a Rottie that is wonderful with other birds and eaten without thinking twice. In fact, some breeds should not be considered a bird around, for obvious reasons … such as labs, retrievers, etc. The best answer is one of two things … one. If you have to have a dog … find one that can take someone who knows a little about it already. Make arrangements for visits with the dog and bring to a bird (what kind of bird we talking about?) And very close monitoring of the visit. See how each reacts to another. If it shows any apprehension or fear, not to pursue adoption. Even if the dog seems fine and the monsters of a bird … consider what best for your bird … that comes first. Do not assume that all is well if things go well in the first visit. If possible, make the dog a couple of visits to your home, in your environment of birds and see how it goes. or two … simply not run the risk of having a dog regardless. Both dogs and cats have bacteria in their saliva that is deadly to birds and even a drop in poultry skin can make you sick or kill you. Good luck!
