Do any of you know of any folklore that tells you what the Congolese people thinking?

Thousands of years ago when African gray parrots, or other parrots for that matter, began to imitate human speech? They were considered gods, demons, what?

Whoo Boy! Great question, but it is interesting! A book is available on the subject if you're interested in learning about this very long story. It is called "Parrot Culture" by Bruce Thomas Boehrer. (Score one point for the parrots.) Alexander the Great is considered to be the first person to introduce Western civilization parrots. They are considered "exotic and exciting and full of wonderful powers and about the gods." In some cultures are considered "messengers of the gods." His gift of mimicry and the beautiful colors made out as the magical creatures that became very popular as pets and zoo exhibits. They did a great impact on our culture over time and still remain popular, whether in advertising, art, film and folklore.
