old parakeet
How to stop the destructive behavior on the grooming of my 4 years. old parakeet?

I tried to change the toys in his cage … I have provided a small mirror in his cage … I gave him a standing mirror out of his cage on the table … I've spent countless hours with him … I even follow the suggestion of the vet to get a spray bottle so I can give you the daily humidity of their feathers and skin … but even more struts. Any other suggestions there?

Cuttlefish bones and millet are not correct what you are doing. Add a little wheat germ oil for food. I wonder if you can have a feather in your blood, you had the Vet check fot that? Blood feathers are very painful to a bird and make them go nuts, it appears as he is not leaving of grooming, but is actully trying to get blood to the pen, the last thing you want her to do is chew well, because if the pen is not removed could bleed to death is a slow death and there is no reason a bird should die of it. So ask your vet to show you how to search, locate and pull out a pen in the blood. If you have one, once that is removed will stop chewing or more getting ready.
