Some questions about parrots.?
I've been looking at getting a parrot. I made a lot of research. I would like to get in a time next spring, so I have all summer to spend time with her to let me know. I was wondering about after that in September, when I highschol to start again, a couple of hours are spent with the bird still not be enough? I was thinking of a Timneh African Grey parrot. I've done a lot of reasearch but some State websites facts different than others. Did the AG require much attention? Are they too strong, or just talking? Me like a medium-sized parrot can speak quite well. You may ask questions and to respond with gentleness.) However, I'd like a thjat is VERY poor. I would like to have fun times. Timneh is the right for me? If not, what do you recommend. Oh, yes, I too am a beginner with the birds and I do not want to start with a parakeet or love bird.
The first concern I have is what happens when you go to college? Parrots, parrots, develop strong bonds with their owners. Unless you going to stay home and go to the local university, you may have trouble finding someone to watch your bird when you are away. Your bird can not accept another owner, which could lead to health problems. African grays are social. If you are only gone for 8 hours a day most people have class, then spend the rest of the day and night at home, you should be fine. If you've gone to school, then after school activities, then work, then a movie with friends … which will lead to a big problem. While the bird does not get too bord, not too strong. When they want attention … which can be very strong. They will also learn a lot of words and learn quickly … some candy, and some not so sweet. Strongly encourage you to volunteer in a place ago bird rescue until you are out of high school. You go through some major life changes in the coming years to go from high school, college, a race. Parrots are the best purchased at a time in your life where you own your own home and are more stable. You never know what will happen, in which they live, or going to live with. Parrots do not accept change very well. Remember to do the best for the bird.
