The best place to spend New Year's Eve in Europe?

I had the opportunity to study in Spain for a semester a couple of years ago, Since then, I've been looking forward to returning to Europe. I'll be making a comeback after Christmas for 2-4 weeks, and want to do something really special, and do some things that I missed the first time. I realize that Europe is huge and he can not do everything, so it shouldn't be so upset. The first time I went I studied in Spain, and traveled to Portugal, England, Switzerland, Italy and the Canary Islands. Speinding was thinking about New Year in Paris, and then venture to Amsterdamn and Germany. Any idea? Based on the short time I realized that I want to spend all my time on a bus, train or plane, so ideally I would like to refer to some cities and leave. There is a place called Gimmalwald, Switzerland, which looks amazing, but I'm not sure what is in the winter, with snow I guess.

I spent New Year in Vienna and the entire old town area into a giant carnival without games, but much wine glu struddel hot, live music and a square that people shoot their own fireworks. In fact it was a little mayhemish, but something I will never forget.
