How much yould you charge to look after a finch and a canary bird for three weeks?

How much per day it would cost to bird sit. Please give reasonable answers lol because I am birdsitting for my neighbours

It’s hard to give an exact amount since many things enter into it. Are you going to their home or will you have the birds at your home? How far away is the job, do you have to drive to get there or walk? How many times per day will you be checking on them? Is there anything extra needed beyond normal feeding, water and keeping the cage clean? For instance, sometimes a bird may be taking meds and the sitter must do that as well. And, in your situation, is this a good neighbor/friend or just an acquaintance? If it’s a good friend and you are doing it sort of as a job but sort of as a favor, it’s nicer to not charge as much as a sitter might otherwise. Just my opinion but if the house is walking distance, you are only going a couple times a day and if it’s a good friend, I’d probably only charge something like $10 a day. Partly because these are not birds that need to be given time out of their cage and do not need as much human interaction each day as, for example, would be needed if it were a parrot. Charge also is partly dependent on just how experienced and knowledgeable the sitter is about birds in general. That’s very important if by chance you are keeping them at your home instead of visiting them. The owners must be able to trust that you are away of all the dangers of toxic products that you must not allow the birds to be exposed to, or to be around at all. I don’t know where you are located either and that can enter into it. I’d suggest you call around locally to any pet sitters and to vets offices. They don’t have to know exactly why you are asking. Just inquire what they would charge to either board, or come to the home, to care for these birds. Then, unless you are also a licensed pet sitter, you will have to charge less than the quoted prices. If you don’t, there is no need for the neighbors to pay you. They could just go for a “pro”.
